I call my studio “Tides Of Eternity” named after a completely original hand-painted and hand-crafted working clock design that I created © 1998.
My "Tides of Eternity" clocks illustrate the changing time of day through a series of painted trees that circle the center of the clock face. By coloring the changes in the foliage of the circling tree along with the rising & setting sun, my creation colorfully relates the changing time of one day to the changing seasons of one year. My original "Tides Of Eternity" creation is a completely hand-painted and hand-crafted working clock that I designed spontaneously in 1998. ~ I now understand it as a sort of "mandala", but at the time when I created it way back in the nineteen-nineties I had never heard of the word mandala nor did I know what one is. In my mind, the process was propelled by something along the lines of the cliché “one day at a time.” ……Though through the many layered processes of creating and naming it, it was and continues to be clear to me that I can endlessly find timely and timeless personal and universal meaning in each “Tides of Eternity” piece. *Someday I will have to do a more in depth blog about this artwork because there is so much more to this creation than could ever show in pictures. © 1998 Chrissy Breslin Schroeder |
